Guest-post Savanah Benz

Hi, my name is Savanah Benz. I’m from North Dakota, and I am a country singer/songwriter. My go-to saying is, “I’m country roots with cowgirl boots.” The story all began when I was 9 years old, and I watched my idol, Danielle Bradbery, win “The Voice.” After seeing her accomplishment, she inspired me to start singing.

I started singing, but I was super shy around people. I was so shy that I had to have my family and relatives turn the other way so I could sing. I didn’t know I wanted to be a performer at that age of 9. I knew I loved singing, but I was afraid to step out of my comfort zone and pursue singing.

Until finally, at age 12, I began performing in public. To my surprise, I wasn’t nervous about singing in front of people then. It sort of just came naturally to me at that time. It was as if I had been performing my whole life. Since then, I’ve been singing and performing all around ND, getting my name out there.

It’s a tough process, but it’s so worth it. All of the hours of hard work, are WORTH IT! I recently started a country band. We are just about ready to start booking gigs. I’m super excited about that. I have been writing a lot of music that I hope to record in Nashville this summer for the very first time. I can’t wait to let people hear my story and help them connect.

All in all, I’ve learned that to make dreams come true, you’ve got to put in the work and dedication to it. Giving back to the community is also very important. Without the community and my fans, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

So I’m very thankful to them. Looking forward into my future, I hope to move to Nashville either after high school or college and keep pursuing my country music dream in hopes of getting a record deal someday. That would be the dream for sure!
