Artist – RiverChild

I am a Solo indie/folk artist from north London and go under the name of RiverChild. In the last two years after releasing my first e.p, RiverChild has gone on to perform shows all around the UK, including a monthly residency at The Hawley Arms in Camden, Camden Rocks Festival, Sofar Sounds in various cities, Great escapee Festival and many more.

I started playing the guitar at a young age because my dad played the guitar and there was always guitars hanging around the house. I had a few guitar lessons but never enjoyed playing other people’s songs so just decided to write my own music and have been doing that ever since.

While receiving great reviews from the likes of  “Shindig Magazine” and “For Folk Sake” and BBC.

“A storyteller in the great folk tradition, tales of heartbreak and longing and the loneliness of the big sky. RiverChild’s voice is rare and distinctive, owing as much to the early millennium indie scene as to the country greats, filled with emotion and belief in every word. The guitar parts are melodic and unfussy, alternating between fingerpicking and gentle strumming that add real atmosphere to the songs as do the occasional blasts of harmonica.”-Shindig Magazine.
